The MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fibre media to 100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. The MC111CS uses WDM and requires only one fibre cable to send and receive data, saving you half the cost of cables. The MC111CS is designed in accordance with the IEEE802.3u 10/100Base-TX standard and the 100Base-FX standard, and is intended for... use with single-mode fibre optic cable and the SC connector. The MC111CS supports the long wavelength (LX) laser specification at a forwarding rate equivalent to full bandwidth. It transmits at a wavelength of 1550nm and receives at 1310nm. This means that the device that is to work with the MC111CS must transmit at 1310nm and receive at 1550nm. A media converter from TP-Link that works together with the MC111CS is, for example, the MC112CS. Other features of the module include: the ability to use the unit as a stand-alone unit (no additional enclosure required) or with TP-Link's 19-inch system enclosure, auto-MDI/MDIX for the transmit port, duplex mode auto-tuning on the transmit port and status LED on the front panel. The MC111CS transmits in Fibre Optic Long Distance mode using a single- mode fibre optic cable over a distance of up to 20km.
